The Belize Audubon Society (BAS) has announced the appointment of Yashin Dujon as its new Executive Director. Dujon assumes the role at a pivotal moment in the Society’s journey, bringing with him more than two decades of experience in conservation, sustainable tourism, strategic business development, and international relations. Many Belizeans may recognize Dujon from his previous tenure as Chief Executive Officer in the Ministry of Tourism and Civil Aviation between 2015 and 2020. During that period, he reportedly helped guide several major international sustainable development initiatives in collaboration with partners including the Inter-American Development Bank and Taiwan’s International Cooperation and Development Fund. According to the Belize Audubon Society, Dujon’s background combines expertise in natural resource management and international business. The Belize Audubon Society is one of the country’s oldest and most recognized environmental organizations, managing several protected areas and promoting conservation, environmental education, and sustainable resource management across Belize.
