The U.S. Embassy in Belize today hosted its annual 5K Jungle Run, bringing together members of Belize’s law enforcement and security forces in a strong display of unity and cooperation between Belize and the United States. Held in honor of Belize’s law enforcement community, the event saw participation from Police Commissioner Dr. Richard Rosado, Chief Executive Officer in the Ministry of Home Affairs Rear Admiral Elton Bennett, along with officers from the Belize Police Department, Belize Coast Guard, and Belize Defence Force. Representatives from the U.S. Embassy also took part in the run, which has become a yearly tradition aimed at strengthening ties between both countries’ security agencies. In a social media post following the event, the U.S. Embassy described the strong turnout as “a powerful reminder of our shared commitment to public safety,” adding that the partnership between Belize and the United States continues to contribute toward safer communities. The Jungle Run is traditionally organized by the Embassy’s Regional Security Office in collaboration with Belizean security agencies. Beyond promoting fitness and camaraderie, the initiative also serves to honor police officers and security personnel who lost their lives in the line of duty. The annual event is often held as part of activities surrounding National Police Week and highlights the longstanding bilateral security partnership between Belize and the United States.
