University of Belize Students Showcase Innovation At 2026 Pharma Expo

Pharmacy students at the University of Belize put their classroom knowledge to the test. The results were on full display at the annual Natural and Pharmaceutical Product Expo 2026. It was held at the main campus in Belmopan under the theme “Healing Starts With Nature,” the expo brought together students, future pharmacists, and members of the public for a day of innovation, product showcasing, and community engagement. From natural insect repellents to high-protein nutritional bars, students presented a wide range of locally inspired health and wellness products, many made using ingredients sourced right here in Belize. The event gave pharmacy students a hands-on opportunity to develop entrepreneurial skills while connecting directly with the community they will one day serve. Members of the public were invited to visit the booths, purchase and test student-made products, and interact with the next generation of Belizean pharmacists. Our Belmopan correspondent, Ljay Wade, was on campus and spoke with one of the students about the products they created.

Organizers say the expo continues to play an important role in promoting innovation, supporting local talent, and strengthening connections between the university and the wider community.
