Two Young Men Killed in George Price Highway Crash

Two young lives were tragically cut short on Saturday evening following a fatal traffic accident along the George Price Highway in Cotton Tree Village, Cayo District.  Reports are that shortly after five o’clock, Roaring Creek Police responded to an area between miles forty-three and forty-four, in front of The Mall Gas Station, where they discovered the lifeless bodies of two male persons of Hispanic descent lying across the median of the highway.  One of the victims was found face down, dressed in red short pants and a black t-shirt, while the other was lying face up wearing blue and white three-quarter jeans, a black long-sleeve shirt, and a helmet. A damaged blue and black motorcycle was also seen at the scene.  Investigations revealed that around four-thirty that same afternoon, forty-three-year-old Manuel de Jesus Rodriguez of Belmopan City was driving a Peterbilt tandem truck with a forty-foot fuel bowser along the highway from west to east.  

Stacy Smith, Assistant Superintendent of Police: “Police are investigating a fatal traffic accident which resulted in the death of 17 year old Axel Cho and 15 year old Giovanni Middleton. Information Is that at approximately 5:00 PM on Saturday 22nd, March, 2026, both Cho and Middleton were on a motorcycle which was being driven by Cho. It is reported and alleged that Cho made his way onto the highway in the vicinity of Mile 43 on the George Price Highway and that is when a collision occurred between that motorcycle and a truck, a tandem truck, that was traveling to Belmopan. It is alleged that the driver sought to avoid the collision however the tail end of the bowser that was at fixed to the tandem truck made contact with the motorcycle, causing the eventual demise of both individuals. A notice of intended prosecution has been served on the driver of the truck, and samples have been extracted from him as a part of the ongoing investigation.”

Love news spoke with the aunt and guardian of Jonathan Millian who told us how the family is trying to cope with the loss of their loved one.

Matilda Cho, the mother of Axel Cho, who also indicated that information into the death of her so is not forthcoming from police investigators.

Axel Cho was a 3rd form student at the Belmopan Comprehensive School and Jonathan Milian was a past student of the same institution.
