Teenager ran over and killed by a passenger bus in Ladyville 

A teenager was killed this evening in a tragic road traffic incident along the Philip Goldson Highway near its intersection with Marage Road.  The victim has been identified as sixteen-year-old Alex Griffith, a resident of Lords Bank in the Belize District.  Preliminary information reaching our newsroom indicates that the teenager had only just begun working with Miller Sanitation, and was on his way to the barber shop.  As he rode his bicycle along the highway, shortly after five o’clock, he slipped near the edge of the pavement and veered into the path of oncoming traffic. He was reportedly run over by an Orange Walk Tillett bus traveling along the highway.  When Love News arrived at the scene, police officers had already cordoned off the area and were processing the scene. The victim’s body remained on the roadway as investigators gathered evidence and directed traffic along the busy highway.  Police are expected to provide additional details once their preliminary inquiries are completed.
