Team Belize Wins 22 Medals at El Salto Team Challenge in El Salvador


Belize’s young gymnasts are returning home with an impressive medal haul after a standout performance at the El Salto Team Challenge held in El Salvador from last Thursday through to Sunday, May 31. Team Belize, representing SESA Gymnastics and the Gymnastics Federation of Belize, captured an impressive twenty-two medals during the international competition, which brought together athletes from across Central America and the Caribbean. Belize’s delegation delivered strong performances throughout the four-day competition, earning medals across multiple categories while showcasing the continued growth of the sport locally. A major highlight came from gymnasts Selene Bedran and Adrianna Paz, who qualified for the event finals and competed among some of the region’s top performers.  The team was also afforded the opportunity to meet with Belize’s Ambassador to El Salvador, Her Excellency Annie Lou Burns Martinez.  The El Salto Team Challenge has grown into one of the region’s premier artistic gymnastics competitions, attracting hundreds of gymnasts competing under internationally recognized regulations. Previous editions have featured athletes from Belize, Guatemala, Costa Rica, Honduras, Panama, Mexico, the Dominican Republic, Curaçao, and host nation El Salvador.  Officials from the Gymnastics Federation of Belize and SESA Gymnastics say the achievement reflects the dedication of the athletes, coaches, and families who have worked tirelessly to elevate Belize’s presence on the international gymnastics stage.  Love News understands that the event is designed to provide high-level competition and foster athlete development and international exchange among gymnastics programs throughout the region.
