Stolen Boat Recovered in Ladyville Without Engines


In a separate case, police are investigating the theft of a large fiberglass boat and two high-powered engines from the Princess Casino and Hotel dock in Belize City.  Forty-three-year-old Mario Cesar Guerrero reported to authorities yesterday evening that sometime between Sunday and Monday morning, a thirty-eight-foot fiberglass vessel bearing the name “Manta Ray Sport” was stolen from the dock located on Newtown Barracks. Police say the vessel was equipped with two two-hundred horsepower Yamaha engines.  Investigators later recovered the boat in Ladyville, however, both engines had been removed. The engines are valued at approximately thirty thousand Belize dollars each, bringing the estimated loss to around sixty thousand Belize dollars. Police continue investigations into the theft.
