Six Young Belizeans Selected for Prestigious YLAI Program

Belize is once again being represented on the international stage, as six young entrepreneurs have been selected to participate in the prestigious Young Leaders of the Americas Initiative, better known as YLAI.  The U.S. Embassy in Belize today introduced the country’s 2026 cohort, highlighting a diverse group of innovators who are already making meaningful contributions across multiple sectors. The program brings together more than two hundred and fifty young leaders from across the Western Hemisphere, pairing them with U.S. organizations and businesses to strengthen leadership, expand networks, and drive community impact.  Among those selected is Daniel Hung, CEO and Founder of Run Man Belize, a technology-driven delivery platform aimed at simplifying everyday life through digital infrastructure that connects customers with restaurants, stores, and couriers.  Also representing Belize is Maya Choc, Executive Director of Xe’il, whose work focuses on building sustainable businesses while preserving cultural heritage by promoting the products of Maya women artisans both locally and internationally.  Entrepreneur Ashley Young-Balderamos, owner of Urban Eatery, brings her expertise in small business management, marketing, and customer engagement, while continuing to support community-focused initiatives through her fast-casual restaurant.  From the manufacturing sector, Jose Daniel Escobar, General Manager of Elibel, has been recognized for his innovative approach to product design and sustainability, including the development of liquid dispenser machines that reduce plastic waste and improve efficiency.  Also selected is Adrienne Young, founder of Pixie Fairy Cupcakes, a growing home-based bakery known for its custom, handcrafted treats and expanding product line.  Rounding out the group is Rosita Cesena, owner of Pick a Toy BZ, a retail business that provides quality products for families while also engaging in community outreach through school supply drives and youth-centered initiatives.  The U.S. Embassy notes that the YLAI program continues to empower emerging leaders across the region, equipping them with the tools and partnerships needed to create lasting, positive change in their home countries
