KINGSTON – West Indies fast bowler Shamar Joseph will miss the third and final One Day International (ODI) against Sri Lanka in Jamiaca on Monday.
A statement from Cricket West Indies said the 26-year-old Guyanese pacer would be unavailable due to personal reasons.
“Fast bowler Shamar Joseph will miss Monday’s third ODI against Sri Lanka at Sabina Park due to personal reasons.
“Joseph has returned home but is expected to rejoin the squad in time for the start of the three-match T20I series, which bowls off on Thursday at Sabina Park,” the statement read.
Joseph went wicketless in the opening ODI, while conceding 38 runs from his eight overs.
West Indies trail the three-match series 1-0 after losing the opener by 41 runs. The second ODI on Saturday was abandoned without a ball being bowled due to persistent showers.
