Police Probe Daylight Robbery at Belize City Shop

Police are investigating a brazen daylight robbery that unfolded yesterday afternoon at a business establishment in Belize City.  At approximately 3:22 p.m., authorities responded to reports of a robbery in progress at Good Fortune Shop, located on Blue Marlin Drive. Officers from the Northside Criminal Investigation Branch were dispatched to the scene, where they gathered initial details of the incident.  The shopkeeper, 64-year-old Xinye Zhang, reported that while she was at the cashier desk, two dark-skinned male individuals entered the store. According to Zhang, one of the men who wore a construction vest approached the counter, pulled out a silver-colored firearm, and pointed it directly at her, commanding her not to move. The suspect then jumped over the counter, opened the cash register, and removed an undisclosed amount of cash.  Both suspects then exited the establishment and fled the area on a motorcycle, heading along Blue Marlin Drive toward Cotton Wick Avenue.
