Police Investigate Theft of Boat and Engines From Down Caye

Police are investigating the theft of a vessel and marine equipment from Down Caye in the Belize District.  Authorities say the report was made yesterday by seventy-year-old Karl Heusner, who informed police that several items had been stolen from the island property. Among the missing items are a twenty-three-foot fiberglass skiff named “Fermina,” valued at ten thousand Belize dollars, along with two twenty-five horsepower Yamaha boat engines valued at an additional ten thousand dollars.  Police say the total estimated value of the stolen property is approximately thirty thousand Belize dollars.
