The Belize Police Department continues to expand its community policing efforts across the country through a series of meet-and-greet operations and neighborhood engagement activities aimed at strengthening relationships with residents and addressing public safety concerns. In Belize City, officers attached to Precinct Three conducted a Meet and Greet operation today in the Sector One area along Barrack Road. The initiative was led by Deputy Officer Commanding Precinct Three Operations, ASP Nicholas, along with Community Oriented Policing personnel and support staff. During the outreach, officers engaged business owners and residents regarding gang-related graffiti that had recently appeared on various surfaces in the area. Community members voiced concerns over the markings and their impact on the neighborhood. Police encouraged residents to remain vigilant and to contact the 911 emergency line if they observe suspicious activity or require assistance. Meanwhile, in San Pedro Town, Community Policing officers assigned to Zone Four attended the monthly South Ambergris Caye Neighborhood Watch meeting held at Someplace South yesterday. During the session, Mayor Wally Nuñez provided residents with updates on ongoing road paving works and the status of the town’s water project, including funding challenges tied to its completion. Residents also participated in a question-and-answer session where concerns and community issues were raised directly with municipal representatives. Further north, police attached to the Trial Farm Sub-Station in Orange Walk carried out a Meet and Greet initiative in the East San Martin area yesterday under the leadership of Inspector M. Anderson. Officers visited ten homes during the operation, where residents expressed appreciation for the increased police presence in the community. Concerns raised by residents were documented for referral to the relevant agencies, while officers also distributed contact information cards and encouraged the formation of a Neighborhood Watch group within the area. And in Belize City, Precinct Four personnel conducted their weekly Meet and Greet operation in the Belama Phase One area along Chetumal Boulevard and Guava Street. Officers visited eight residents and seven businesses as part of the outreach. Police say residents shared valuable feedback on community concerns and also thanked officers for taking proactive steps to engage the public and promote safety initiatives within the neighborhood. According to the Police Department, these activities remain part of its wider community policing strategy focused on improving trust, communication, and collaboration between law enforcement and the communities they serve.
