Police Charge Two, Including Minor, in Unitedville Murder Investigation

Police have formally arrested and charged two persons, including a minor, in connection with the murder of forty-three-year-old Allen Gongora of Unitedville.  The arrests come days after a targeted shooting on May 19 that triggered a massive police operation across the Cayo District. Investigators say Gongora was fatally gunned down in Unitedville before the suspects fled the area in a dark-colored SUV.  Law enforcement authorities immediately launched a coordinated response involving officers from Roaring Creek Police and specialized units, including GI3, the Special Patrol Unit, and the Mobile Interdiction Unit. The operation led police to intercept the vehicle near Roaring Creek, where several persons were detained and two firearms were recovered.  Police believe the weapons may have been used in the fatal shooting. Authorities also indicated that the investigation has pointed to possible drug-related motives behind the killing. A quantity of suspected crack cocaine and cannabis was reportedly found at the scene near Gongora’s body.  ASP Stacy Smith had earlier explained how police were able to quickly track down the suspects following the murder.

Stacy Smith, Assistant Superintendent of Police: “As a consequence of the ongoing investigation into the murder of 43-year-old Allen Gongora, which occurred on 19 May, 2026 in Unitedville, Cayo District, police have formally arrested and charged two persons, being a 15-year-old male minor of Belize City and 27-year-old Jevon Ramclam also of Belize City for the crime of murder. Investigators anticipate that additional arrests will be made as this ongoing investigation continues. “

It is to be noted that Police had initially detained seven persons in this investigation./
