Residents and visitors in Corozal Bay are benefiting from improved lighting following the installation of dozens of new streetlights along the coastline. In the lead-up to the Easter holiday weekend, some forty-five lights were installed along the Corozal Bay area in an effort to enhance visibility and public safety. The initiative comes in response to recent incidents of vandalism which had left sections of the area poorly lit and raised concerns among residents. Area Representative for Corozal Bay, Thea Garcia-Ramirez, explained that the project was the result of coordinated efforts among multiple stakeholders aimed at restoring and strengthening infrastructure in the community.
As part of the initiative, members of the PUP Corozal Marshalls contributed by painting the light poles, helping to improve the overall appearance of the area while supporting the restoration works.
