Man Hospitalized in Critical Condition After Succotz Stabbing

Police in the west are investigating a stabbing incident that has left one man hospitalized in critical condition. The incident occurred this morning in the village of San Jose Succotz, Cayo District.  According to reports, at around 10:30 a.m., seventy-one-year-old businessman Ricardo Chulin reported that he was behind his shop watching television when he heard someone enter the establishment. When he went to check, he discovered thirty-eight-year-old laborer Alvin August lying inside the shop suffering from a large cut wound to the left side of his lower rib cage, with part of his intestine exposed.  Chulin immediately alerted Succotz police and emergency personnel. August was transported to the San Ignacio Community Hospital, where he remains in critical condition.  Investigators say witnesses reported that August had been socializing shortly before the incident with individuals known to him.  We will keep following this story as charges are yet to be levied.
