Lee Mark Chang Recovering After Belize City Traffic Accident

Police continue to investigate last night’s road traffic accident involving Mesopotamia Area Representative Lee Mark Chang, who has since assured the public that he is doing well following the incident.  As previously reported, the incident occurred shortly before eight o’clock at the intersection of Cleghorn Street and Mapp Street in Belize City. Police responded to the scene where they observed a white Kia pick-up truck overturned on its side with extensive damage, along with a black Chevy Blazer SUV that sustained severe front-end damage.  Investigators say the Kia was being driven by forty-year-old Andrew Bradley with Chang seated in the front passenger seat. Bradley reported that while traveling along Mapp Street, the Chevy Blazer allegedly entered the intersection from Cleghorn Street, causing the collision that led to the pickup overturning.  Chang sustained a cut wound to the top of his head and was transported to Belize Medical Associates for treatment. The driver of the Chevy Blazer, identified as thirty-two-year-old police officer Wilfred Francis, reportedly complained of neck pain and was issued a medico-legal form. Police served Francis with a Notice of Intended Prosecution as investigations continue.  Today, Lee Mark Chang took to social media to thank members of the public who reached out following news of the accident. In his post, Chang assured supporters that he is fine and recovering.  Despite the ordeal, the area representative departed the country today to attend his son’s graduation ceremony abroad.
