Belize’s Joint Public Accounts Committee, known as JPAC, is continuing its review of the Auditor General’s reports, with plans now underway to submit another report to the House of Representatives next month. In a public notice issued today by the Office of the Clerk of the National Assembly, it was announced that the Committee met on Wednesday at the National Assembly Building in Belmopan to further consider the Auditor General’s Report covering the financial year April 2016 to March 2017. According to the notice, that report had previously been referred to the JPAC for examination and consideration earlier this year, on February 6. Following this week’s meeting, committee members agreed to present their Second Report to the House during the next House meeting scheduled for June. The notice also highlighted that the Committee’s first-ever report on the Auditor General’s findings for the 2015 to 2016 financial year was already presented to and adopted by the House of Representatives in December of last year.
