A Belizean man is quite literally hanging on to hope tonight after becoming the victim of a devastating road traffic accident late last week. Fernando Hope remains hospitalized in critical condition following the crash in Ontario Village, Cayo District, on Thursday, March 26. Reports indicate that Hope was knocked off his motorcycle during the incident and has since been in a coma. The injuries he sustained are described as severe and life-altering. Family members say the impact resulted in the amputation of one of his legs, leaving him in an extremely fragile state as doctors continue to fight to stabilize him. Now, as he battles for his life, Hope’s family is also grappling with the financial strain of his medical care. They say more than nine thousand dollars is urgently needed to cover the cost of critical surgery that could aid in his recovery. Speaking with Love News, Hope’s sister, Fernanda, became emotional as she detailed the extent of his injuries and the urgent medical support he now requires.
The family says they remain hopeful, but acknowledge that the road ahead is uncertain. They are now appealing to the public for assistance, as they work to raise the funds needed to give Fernando Hope a fighting chance at recovery.
