Family Of Missing Belmopan Mother Deborah Bree Arthurs Demands Answers

More than a month after the disappearance of Deborah Bree Arthurs, her family says they are growing increasingly frustrated with what they describe as a lack of progress and communication from investigators. Bree’s aunt, Diane Arthurs, is once again publicly calling on authorities to intensify their efforts, while also offering a ten-thousand-dollar reward for information that could help solve the case.  In a strongly worded social media post published today, Diane Arthurs shared the contents of an email she says was sent to Minister of Home Affairs Oscar Mira on April 27 but claims she has yet to receive any response.  In the email, Arthurs questioned the status of the police investigation and raised concerns over what she described as the lack of concrete updates surrounding her niece’s disappearance. She pointed to reports indicating that Deborah Bree Arthurs was last seen entering a silver Chevy Equinox with heavily tinted windows and questioned why more information has not been made public regarding the vehicle, its renter, driver, and destination.  Arthurs wrote that her family wants answers and believes every possible effort should be made to determine what happened to Bree. She also expressed frustration over what she described as increasing crime and disappearances in Belize, accusing the system of failing victims and their families.  According to the post, Arthurs has gone as far as contacting authorities outside of Belize, including officials in Washington D.C. and a Texas senator, in an effort to bring international attention to the case and what she described as broader concerns over crime and justice in the country.  The emotional appeal ends with a plea for authorities to “leave no stone unturned,” adding that the family wants to find Bree Arthurs and secure justice for her.  Arthurs, a resident of Belmopan and the mother of a nine-year-old boy, was reported missing after March 27, when she traveled to Belize City. Reports indicate that she had taken her son to the water taxi terminal for a visit with his father in San Pedro and was expected to return home shortly after.  However, shortly after midday, Arthurs was reportedly seen in the vicinity of La Popular Bakery on Cemetery Road. Witnesses say she entered a silver Chevy Equinox at that location, marking the last confirmed sighting of her.
