Dangriga Town Council Expands Street Rehabilitation Campaign

Residents in Dangriga Town are seeing continued improvements to several streets as the Dangriga Town Council pushes ahead with its road rehabilitation campaign.  According to Dangriga Mayor Robert Mariano, crews are currently working on Church Street, an area that was badly affected by flooding during last year’s rainy season. The rehabilitation project includes the damaged stretch between Front Street and Commerce Street and marks the third major street repair initiative undertaken by the council since January.  Mayor Mariano explained that in addition to repairing the roadway, the council is also addressing long-standing drainage concerns in the area, including sections in front of and along the north side of the local convent, as well as near the Catholic church.

The road rehabilitation effort is also receiving support from the Ministry of Infrastructure Development and Housing. Mayor Mariano confirmed that the town council has received approval for additional road materials, which he says will help expand repair works into other areas of Dangriga.  According to Mariano, the support from central government will allow the council to continue improving road conditions and addressing problem areas that residents have been complaining about for years.

Mayor Mariano is asking residents to remain patient as work continues across the town. He noted that while there may be temporary inconveniences and traffic disruptions, the upgrades are necessary to improve road safety and drainage conditions throughout Dangriga. He is also urging motorists to drive carefully and cooperate with road crews while the projects are underway.
