A Dangriga resident is starting the week hundreds of thousands of dollars richer after claiming the massive Mega Bingo jackpot, turning what he described as a routine ticket purchase into a life-changing moment. The winning ticket, valued at three-hundred-and-seventy-thousand, eight-hundred dollars, was sold at a vendor in southern Belize. This afternoon, the lucky winner made the trip to Belize City to officially collect his prize. Love News caught up with the winner who chose to remain off camera, and unnamed. The winner did speak to our newsroom and shared that his success came after years of loyalty to a single ticket since the inception of the Mega Bingo game.
After taxes, the winner walked away with three-hundred and fifteen thousand, one hundred and eighty dollars. Despite the sizeable payout, he says he has modest plans for the money, with his primary goal being to build a new home. With the jackpot now reset, organizers say the next draw is set for this Wednesday.
