Karil Wallace, Love News: A family of four in Santa Rosa Village in the Stann Creek district are left without a place to rest their head tonight as their wooden home with thatched roofing was completely destroyed by fire. Alvaro Ishim, the homeowner spoke to our Dangriga Correspondent Harry Arzu.
Alvaro Ishim, Homeowner: “Minutes after nine o’clock my brother he is my neighbor and he went to his sister, he had some head injury and he told me to mind his kids in the house so I went with my children and my common-law wife we went to take care of those children. When I saw my house was already on fire, already half way. I just took out clothes, and birth paper, everything else I couldn’t save it.”
Karil Wallace, Love News: According to Ishim, everything was lost and the only thing that was saved were birth certificates and some clothes. When Ishim was asked about what might have started the fire this is what he had to say.
Alvaro Ishim, Homeowner: “I have no idea. I just never expected this to happen and we just left like an hour. I at my dinner and that is when I went with my brother.”
