Construction Worker Critical After Ladyville Mother’s Day Stabbing

A stabbing incident near the Philip S. W. Goldson International Airport over the weekend has left a construction worker hospitalized and another man in police custody.  Police responded shortly before 1:00 pm yesterday to a construction site in Ladyville. Officers found 35-year-old Nelson Rene Rosa Ramirez, suffering from multiple stab wounds under a shed. He was taken to the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital, where he remains in critical but stable condition. Police believe the incident started during a Mother’s Day gathering after an argument between Nelson Ramirez and his uncle, 43-year-old Guatemalan national Elmer Ramirez, turned violent. The suspect was later found hiding in a drain on the property. Elmer Ramirez has since been taken into police custody.
