Belize City played host to a powerful and uplifting initiative this morning as young women gathered at City Hall for The Confidence Room, an encouragement session aimed at building self-belief, identity, and purpose among teenage girls. The event, held under the nonprofit Project Royalty spearheaded by Bella Zabaneh, featured a special international guest, Miss Universe of the Ivory Coast, Olivia Yacé, whose presence added a global dimension to the initiative. Yacé, who is in Belize as a guest of Miss Universe Belize, took center stage in engaging directly with participants, sharing her journey and encouraging young women to embrace their worth beyond circumstances. The session forms part of a growing movement in Belize focused on investing in the mental and emotional wellbeing of young women, creating safe spaces for empowerment and self-expression. Love News spoke with Yacé, who explained what inspired her involvement in the initiative and her message to Belizean youth.
For many of the girls in attendance, the opportunity to hear from an international figure like Yacé was both inspiring and affirming. Organizers say The Confidence Room is designed to serve as more than just a one-day session, it is meant to reflect back to young women a vision of their potential and self-worth. Bella Zabaneh, founder of Project Royalty, says the initiative is rooted in a commitment to nurturing confident, resilient young women across Belize.
Today’s session, which ran from 9:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., also highlighted themes of self-love, embracing one’s identity, and overcoming challenges, messages organizers say are critical for today’s youth. Organizers say this is only the beginning, with plans already underway to expand similar initiatives to reach even more young women across the country./
