Belmopan Bicycle and Motorcycle Crash Leaves Teen Critical

Police in Belmopan City are investigating a late-night road traffic accident that has left one young man in critical condition.  The incident occurred shortly after two o’clock yesterday morning along Constitution Drive where authorities responded to reports of a collision. Upon arrival at the scene, officers found two young men lying motionless on the pavement.  Initial investigations revealed that the accident involved a 24-inch bicycle and a Meilun motorcycle. The cyclist has been identified as 18-year-old Romaldo Salam, a pump attendant of a Belmopan address, while the motorcyclist is 26-year-old Jerry Alexander Sho of the Cayo District.  Both men sustained multiple injuries and were transported by paramedics to the Western Regional Hospital for urgent medical treatment. Salam was later transferred to Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital, where he remains in critical condition.
