The Belize Diabetes Association has announced the successful completion of its recent elections, ushering in a new executive leadership team for the next three years. According to a press release, the elections were held on April 25, at the ITVET campus in Belize City, with members participating in what was described as an orderly and transparent process. Oversight was provided by three Justices of the Peace to ensure that all procedures were properly followed. At the conclusion of the exercise, Tylon Tillett was elected as President, while Lynette Valerio was chosen to serve as Vice President. Other vacant positions within the association were also filled during the process by active members in attendance. The Association noted that the new executive will serve from 2026 to 2029 and is expected to continue advancing its mission of promoting diabetes awareness, education, and care across the country. Organizers also used the opportunity to endorse key roles requiring medical expertise, including contributions from doctors and pharmacists, as part of strengthening healthcare advocacy efforts. The Belize Diabetes Association extended thanks to all members and supporters who participated in the elections, emphasizing that continued public involvement remains vital in the fight against diabetes nationwide.
