Belize City woman jailed six months for crack pipe possession

A 19-year-old Belize City woman has been sentenced to six months in prison after pleading guilty to possession of utensils for smoking cocaine before Senior  Magistrate Mannon Dennison at the Belize City Magistrate’s Court on Wednesday, March 25, 2026. Kelly Emny Soriano, an unemployed resident of #10 East Canal, Belize City, appeared in court unrepresented after police arrested her the previous day, Tuesday, March 24, finding her in possession of a crack pipe measuring 2⅓ inches in length. This is not Soriano’s first brush with the law over a similar offense. In 2024, she faced an identical charge and pleaded guilty but escaped a prison term after being handed a suspended sentence. This time, however, no such leniency was extended, and she was committed to prison to serve the six-month term.
