Belize City Man Accidentally Shoots Himself While Cleaning Gun

A twenty-three-year-old Belize City resident is recovering from a gunshot injury after reportedly shooting himself earlier this evening.  Christopher Zetina, a call center agent of St. Joseph Street, was reportedly cleaning the weapon when it accidentally discharged, causing him to suffer a gunshot wound to the stomach. The incident occurred shortly after five o’clock inside the family yard on St. Joseph Street.  Love News visited the area this evening, however, officers on the scene indicated that relatives were not cooperating with the investigation.  Reports to Love News indicate that the firearm used in this incident may have been unlicensed.  Zetina was transported for medical treatment, and is listed as stable at this hour.
