BDF Bomb Squad Safely Recovers Undetonated Grenade in Corozal Town

A potentially dangerous situation in northern Belize was safely brought under control earlier today after an undetonated grenade was retrieved in Corozal Town by the Explosive Ordnance Disposal Unit of the Belize Defence Force.  Details surrounding the discovery remain limited at this hour, but Love News has confirmed that the device was successfully recovered from an area on C Street in that municipality.  The device is reportedly now in the safekeeping of the BDF recovery team. Authorities have not yet disclosed if the grenade was found at a residence or an open area, nor whether any nearby residents were evacuated as a precaution during the operation.  The retrieval was reportedly carried out without incident, and there have been no reports of injuries connected to the discovery. Investigators are now expected to determine how the explosive device ended up in the area and whether it poses any link to criminal activity.  Love News understands that additional information is expected to be released once preliminary investigations are completed.
