The Belize Athletics Association has strengthened the foundation of track and field in the country, following the successful completion of a three-day Officials Training program. The intensive training brought together a group of dedicated participants who received both hands-on and theoretical instruction in key athletic events, including high jump, long jump, triple jump, shot put, discus throw, javelin, as well as track races and relays. The sessions were led by lead facilitator Frederick Evans, with support from assistant facilitator Mark Anderson Junior, both of whom guided participants through the technical and officiating standards required for competitive athletics. At the conclusion of the program, twelve participants were officially certified, significantly boosting Belize’s pool of trained athletics officials. The Belize Athletics Association says the training reflects its continued commitment to building excellence and ensuring the integrity and growth of athletics across the country. Officials also extended congratulations to the newly certified participants, recognizing their dedication to supporting the development of track and field in Belize.
