Police in the Toledo District are investigating a late-night incident that left a woman seriously injured in Big Falls Village on Wednesday night. Authorities say they were alerted just before midnight after reports that a woman was found lying on the shoulder of the road near the Uno Gas Station. Upon arrival, officers observed a young woman lying along the roadway while traveling from Big Falls Village toward Indian Creek Village. Police say she was bleeding and had sustained severe injuries to her face and knees. At this time, police have not confirmed how the injuries were sustained, and investigations remain ongoing. Love News spoke with the victim’s sister, Francine Savala, spoke with Love News on Irene’s (IH-REY-NE)condition.
Francine Savala, Sister: “I’m not really sure exactly what happened but all I heard was a cycle accident and she was left stranded on the side of the road and the person just left her ended up leaving her.”
Reporter: She was a passenger one the motorcycle ?
Francine Savala, Sister: “Well I guess because she doesn’t have a motorcycle and then first I heard she was in PG. She was taking some drinks with some friends at a restaurant and then we have no idea how she ended up reaching at Big Falls. We have some people that have some friends that messaged me and told me that she was in Big Falls. So then it looks like something transported in Big Falls and she ended up getting vex and started to walk, that’s what I heard and apparently she already called somebody and that person maybe met her on the road and picked her up and I think she must have flew off the cycle or fell off or I’m not really sure if two of them fell or whatever. But I just know that the person left her on the side of the road. Then they had two other friends coming from behind that were hanging with her and they ended up stopping and they saw the dark shadow and when they looked they saw her, she was face down in mud. She has face injuries like the whole of her jaw tore off, her left ear, I think her legs are scrapped up, her heel were torn open, a lot of bursts on different parts of her head. Well we are just going to take a scan, I think a CT Scan and then after that we will come for the results and if anything happens to her brain or anything because she’s acting out of order and if anything happened to her brain then she would have to transfer her to KHMH but if nothing happened and everything shows normal then she will be here at Southern Regional.”
Reporter: And do you know who was the rider of the motorcycle ?
Francine Savala, Sister: “No we’re still trying to find out who was the person that picked her up.”
Authorities are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed the incident or has information that could assist the investigation to contact the nearest police station.
