West Indies under-19 women’s campaign in the ICC under-19 T20 World cup ended on Tuesday after they suffered a 10-wicket loss to Bangladesh in their final Super Six match in Kuala Lumpur.
Rain delayed the start and the game was reduced to 13-overs aside. The West Indies made 54 for 6.
Asabi Callender, 11, Naijanni Cumberbatch, 13, and Amrita Ramtahal, 16, were the only players to get into double figures.
Nishita Akter Nishi picked up three wickets for 11 runs and Anisa Akter took two wickets for 13 runs.
Chasing 55 to win, Bangladesh raced to victory inside nine overs.
Juairiya Ferdous was unbeaten on 25 and Fahomida Choya was 14 not out.
The Caribbean side’s only victory at the tournament was a 53-run triumph over hosts Malaysia in the preliminary round.
