Two dogs poisoned during Black Rock home invasion

Two dogs were poisoned on Thursday during a home invasion in broad daylight at Turtle Cottage, Black Rock.

According to police, 63-year-old David Lum Kong and his grandson were at home when bandits attempted to break into the premises at around 11.50 am.

Lum Kong was alerted to the intruders by his grandson, who saw two masked men attempting to climb through a bedroom window.

Upon checking the property, Lum Kong saw his dogs lying motionless and frothing at the mouth.

Shirvan Police were contacted and visited the scene. However, the bandits had already fled.

The incident comes just 24 hours after a home invasion in Calder Hall, where the homeowner was assaulted by four bandits.

More than US$14,000, along with mobile phones and a Samsung tablet, was stolen during that incident.

Investigations into both incidents are ongoing.
