Shyne to Receive Global Ambassador Honor at Caribbean Music Awards

Belizean rapper, humanitarian and former government official Shyne is among four Caribbean entertainers selected as special honorees for the 2026 Caribbean Music Awards.

Shyne will receive the Global Ambassador Honor in recognition of his contributions to music, public service and Caribbean culture. He will be honoured alongside Jamaican dancehall artiste Patra, Tobago-born calypso legend Calypso Rose and Haitian-American singer Alan Cavé.  Patra will receive the Lifetime Achievement Honor for her influence on dancehall and reggae. Her debut album, Queen of the Pack, reportedly became the first album by a Jamaican female artiste to top Billboard’s Reggae Albums chart.  Calypso Rose will receive the Elite Calypso Honor, recognizing her six-decade career, while Cavé, widely known as the “King of Kompa Love,” will be presented with the Elite Konpa Honor.  The fourth annual Caribbean Music Awards is scheduled for Saturday, September 19, at the National Academy for the Performing Arts in Port of Spain, Trinidad and Tobago.  The ceremony will form part of the inaugural Elite Weekend Experience, a three-day celebration bringing together Caribbean artistes, fans and music-industry representatives from September 18 to 20.
