RUN JULIE RUN should dominate her local-bred peers for a second consecutive event, Saturday’s Poorlittlerichgirl, rid of imported runners, who had outclassed her in five races from May of last year until she placed third behind MOJITO and GIRVANO in November’s Jamaica Cup. Sent off as a 2-5 favourite in the December 6 Chairman’s Plate with Javier Castellano on Mouttet Mile Day, RUN JULIE RUN was spent, attempting her 68th furlong in roughly eight months, resulting in a dour fifth-place finish behind BLUE VINYL, SHEER DELIGHT and PROVIDENT at nine furlongs and 25 yards.
