Jamaican model Romae Gordon continues to strengthen her return to the international fashion scene, landing a prominent feature in a new editorial for Women’s Wear Daily (WWD) spotlighting one of this summer’s defining eyewear trends.
The editorial, titled “Heavy Metal Eyewear Trend: From 90s-Inspired Shields to Sharp Rectangular Frames,” showcases Gordon in a series of sleek, futuristic looks styled with luxury sunglasses from leading fashion houses including Prada, Tom Ford, Ralph Lauren, and Gucci.
Photographed in New York City by Vanessa Granda, the spread blends sharp tailoring, leather outerwear, and bold silhouettes in a striking homage to the resurgence of 1990s-inspired fashion aesthetics. The editorial was styled by Alex Badia, with hair by Andrew Chen and makeup by Shaina Ehrlich.
“It was super easy to translate the vision for the creative team,” Gordon said in a statement released Thursday by Sheldon Alexander Group. “The looks are so me, I loved the movement, the edge, the sleekness of the direction throughout.”
Gordon’s latest feature marks another major milestone in what has become one of fashion’s most talked-about comeback stories. After stepping away from modelling, she returned to the runway last year and has since secured bookings with several of the world’s top luxury brands.
Her resurgence began with an appearance in Versace’s Ready-to-Wear Fall/Winter 2026 show in Milan, before drawing wider industry acclaim when she made an exclusive runway appearance for designer Mathieu Blazy’s couture debut in January 2026. She later walked for Proenza Schouler, further solidifying her renewed presence in high fashion.
The momentum surrounding Gordon’s return has continued to build, with global fashion platform Models.com recently naming her its “Model of the Moment,” underscoring her growing influence and renewed prominence within the international modelling industry.
