Police in Punta Gorda Town are increasing their presence in the community as they prepare for the busy holiday season. On Thursday, officers from the Toledo Police Formation carried out a meet-and-greet exercise along Front Street, Prince Street, George Price Street, and José Maria Núñez Street. During the exercise, officers spoke with residents and pedestrians, engaging 18 people who said the area was peaceful and welcomed the increased police presence. The team also visited several businesses in the area, offering safety tips and security advice as business owners prepare for increased activity in the weeks ahead. The exercise was led by Officer Commanding the Toledo Police Formation, Superintendent Victorin, along with ASP Garbutt and other officers from different units within the formation. Police say the initiative is part of their continued effort to maintain visibility, build stronger relationships with residents and business owners, and encourage the public to work along with them in keeping Punta Gorda safe.
