Prime Minister Briceño Delivers Lecture on Leadership and Economy at University of Belize

A guest lecture delivered by John Briceño concluded shortly after five o’clock this evening at the University of Belize Conference Center in Belmopan, where students, faculty members, and members of the public gathered for a discussion focused on leadership, economics, and national development.  The event, which began at three-thirty this afternoon and was streamed live on social media, formed part of an initiative aimed at exposing students and young professionals to national leaders and their perspectives on Belize’s future and economic opportunities.  Prime Minister Briceño served as the featured speaker, using the opportunity to reflect on his personal journey in business and public service while outlining the importance of strong leadership and sound economic management in guiding Belize’s development.  During his address, the Prime Minister noted that the timing of the lecture was particularly fitting, as the country prepares for the upcoming national budget debate in the House of Representatives. He also spoke about his own background in business and how that experience helped shape his approach to governance and economic policy.

Briceño encouraged students to remain engaged in national issues and to consider the role they can play in shaping Belize’s economic and social future through leadership, innovation, and entrepreneurship.  Organizers say the lecture provided an opportunity for meaningful dialogue between students and national leadership while highlighting the importance of informed discussion on economic policy and development as Belize continues to pursue growth and modernization.
