Jamaican dancehall star Popcaan has added another milestone to his international catalogue, earning his eighth silver certification in the United Kingdom for the hit collaboration “Saturnz Barz.”

The track, performed by British virtual band Gorillaz featuring Popcaan, was officially certified silver on March 20 by the British Phonographic Industry (BPI). The certification reflects a combined total of at least 200,000 units in streams and sales.

Released in March 2017 under Parlophone, “Saturnz Barz” appears on Gorillaz’s fifth studio album, Humanz. The track marked Popcaan’s second collaboration with the band and was notably recorded in Jamaica, blending his signature dancehall sound with the group’s experimental style.

The song achieved moderate chart success globally, peaking at No. 5 on the U.S. Hot Rock Tracks chart and reaching No. 87 on the UK Singles Chart, while also charting in countries including Portugal, New Zealand, Mexico, Hungary, and Canada.

This latest recognition further cements Popcaan’s growing influence in international markets. Among his previous UK silver-certified tracks are “My Type,” “Can’t Hold We Down” with Kano, “2 Cups” featuring Tory Lanez, “Twist and Turn” alongside Drake and PartyNextDoor, “Kisses for Breakfast” with Melissa Steel, “Should’ve Been Me” featuring Naughty Boy and Kyla, and “I’m in Control” with AlunaGeorge.

With a steady stream of international collaborations and certifications, Popcaan, widely known as the “Unruly Boss”, continues to strengthen his position as one of Jamaica’s most globally recognized contemporary artists.
