As we noted earlier in our newscast, a young Isaiah Noralez was killed over the weekend as he rode his bicycle in the Benguche area. There wasn’t much that the police shared with us today in this investigation, other than that the teenager was in a dispute earlier. According to ACP Hilberto Romero, they are questioning two persons of interest in this case.

ACP Hilberto Romero, Officer Commanding Eastern Division: “On Sunday around 5:30 a.m. police responded a shooting in the Dangriga upon their arrival they saw a male person with gunshot injuries. He was identified as Isaiah Noralez 16 years. He was taken for treatment. Where thereafter he succumbed to his injuries. Information is that he was riding a bicycle in the Benguche area when a motorcycle with two persons came and one of them fired shots towards his direction causing his fatal injuries. For this murder investigation we have two persons in custody at this time. Information is that he was alone at the time on his bicycle. I’m not sure if he was with a friend but at the time of the shooting he was alone. He had a dispute with two persons from Dangriga over some issues and that is what led to this shooting. No he is not known to police.”
Love News spoke with the child’s aunt, Sharilee Makin. She noted that Noralez’ mom has passed and his father is currently in prison. According to Makin, the teen was quiet but may have been trying to fit in.

Sharilee Makin, Guardian of Deceased: “Honestly I don’t think Isaiah would have hurt anybody. Isaiah was just I think Isaiah wanted to fit in because other than that he’s humble. He doesn’t really like to talk. He might just give a smile. He’s not the person that talks much you know ? He had me worrying all the time, I had to pray everyday especially when you know he’s not at home. The company he chose, the friends he chose. I warned my baby. I told him they are not good friends, your friends will only lead you to two places, only two places you can go. Those are big men in the community. Those are big men in the community harboring those little boys, entertaining those little boys and I don’t know what else they do with the little boys having those little boys doing. Me and this young man ketch multiple times because as I see him my blood starts to boil. As I see him I cuss him. I talked to him first time.”
