Police Clarify Belizean Deportee Is Not Man in Wanted Notice

Love News has confirmed that the Belizean deportee returned from the United States on Friday is not the man featured in a Crime Stoppers Belize wanted notice.  The deportee, Lloyd Leavi Thompson, is the father of Lehi Leavi Thompson, a twenty-two-year-old Corozal District resident wanted by Belizean police for questioning in connection with an investigation.  The similarity between the names initially led to uncertainty over whether the returning deportee was the person identified in the wanted notice. Officials have since clarified that they are two separate individuals.  Lloyd Thompson arrived at Philip Goldson International Airport at around one o’clock on Friday afternoon on a flight from Dallas. He was escorted by police to the Belize Central Prison, arriving there at approximately three-forty-nine.  Authorities have further confirmed that the elder Thompson was returned to Belize as a prisoner in connection with a drug-trafficking sentence stemming from proceedings in the United States. Meanwhile, the wanted notice remains in effect for his son, Lehi Leavi Thompson. Anyone with information on his whereabouts is asked to contact Crime Stoppers Belize at 922 or the nearest police station.
