PG Methodist School Holds Memorial for Preschooler Asher Mejia

A memorial service was held this morning at PG Methodist School to celebrate the short life of Asher Mejia. Teachers, students, parents and family members gathered in the school with candles and flowers, filling the space as tributes poured in for the young preschooler, who attended the Preschool. His teachers said that Asher was remembered as a shy child who found joy in music and was beginning to come out of his shell. Senior Correspondent, Paul Mahung, spoke with his older brother, Elezar Mejia, who expressed gratitude while he mourned his sibling and found comfort in honoring his brother’s memory.

The toddler had wandered off on Sunday and later found dead in the sea in Punta Gorda Town.  Funeral arrangements are still being finalized as the community continues to rally around the family in prayer and support.
