Belize’s national anthem describes the country as a land of beauty and wealth untold; and this weekend, four young women took to the stage to showcase that natural richness while promoting environmental responsibility. The first-ever on-stage Miss Earth Belize Pageant was held at the Belize City Civic Center, combining beauty, culture and advocacy as the delegates competed for the national crown. Beyond selecting a winner, the event sought to raise awareness about environmental protection and encourage Belizeans to play a greater role in preserving the country’s natural resources. Reporter Zayna Augustine attended the historic pageant and filed this story.
