Captain of the West Indies women, Hayley Matthews and Deandra Dottin both hit half centuries to guide the Windies to an 8-wicket win over Bangladesh in the first T20 International at Warner Mark, on Monday.
After winning the toss and electing to bat first, Bangladesh made 144 for 3 off their 20 overs.
Nigar Sultana Joty made 53 not out, Sharmin Akter 37 and Sobhana Mostary 22.
Cherry-Ann Fraser, Matthews and Afy Fletcher got the wickets for the Windies.
Chasing 145 to win, the Caribbean Women reached the target with 19-balls to spare.
Matthews’ unbeaten 60 came off 54 balls and include seven fours, while Dottin hit a 22-ball 51 which included seven-sixes and Qiana Joseph made 29.
Dottin says she enjoys playing at Warner Park.
She has hit the most sixes in women’s T20, 124.
