Masicka’s Forever Reign Sales Numbers Are In: 2026’s Highest First-Week For Dancehall

Exclusive: Forever Reign scores 2026’s highest first-week reggae and dancehall sales in the US

Dancehall artist Masicka’s Forever Reign has secured the biggest opening sales week for a reggae or dancehall album in the US in 2026, while debuting at No. 4 on the Billboard Reggae Albums chart for the week ending August 29.

The album earned 4,015 equivalent album units in the US during its opening tracking period, from August 14 to August 20, according to Luminate data obtained exclusively by World Music Views. Its first-week activity included 3.6 million on-demand streams and 918 pure album sales.

Released through Def Jam Recordings and Republic Records, Forever Reign also generated 9.9 million streams worldwide during its first week.

Luminate, formerly known as Nielsen SoundScan and MRC Data, is an independent music-data and analytics company. It collects consumption figures from verified retail, streaming and broadcast partners and supplies the data used to compile Billboard’s official charts.

Masicka’s chart debut came days after another career milestone. On August 15, one day after the album’s release, he sold out Brooklyn’s Barclays Center for his first US headline arena concert.

The show served as both a celebration of dancehall and a showcase of Jamaican culture within New York’s large Caribbean community. Swizz Beatz, Tarrus Riley, Vanessa Bling and Elephant Man appeared as special guests during the performance.

Together, the record-setting sales week and sold-out arena date reinforce Masicka’s standing among the leading Jamaican artists of his generation, while offering further evidence of dancehall’s expanding international audience.

Across 17 tracks, Forever Reign examines faith, ambition, survival, success and legacy, pairing Masicka’s introspective writing with his characteristically forceful delivery.

The album is led by “1 Psalm”, featuring Damian “Jr. Gong” Marley, and “Honor Roll”, featuring Kraff Gad. Other early standouts include “Pointless”, “Oak Tree” and “Spend”. Engagement across several tracks suggests that listeners are responding to the project as a whole rather than concentrating on a single release.

Blaqbonez and Lila Iké also appear on the album, which follows Generation of Kings and marks the latest stage in Masicka’s growing international career.
