LPG Prices Rise by 30 Cents Per Gallon Across Belize

There is an increase of thirty cents per gallon on Liquefied Petroleum Gas, LPG, effective today, impacting consumers nationwide.  The Supplies Control Unit, SCU, under the Ministry of Agriculture, Food Security and New Growth Industries, confirmed that the adjustment applies to both wholesale and retail transactions by volume across urban and rural areas.  In a press release issued on Friday, the SCU explained that the increase is driven primarily by a rise in the acquisition cost for the latest shipment of LPG. Officials noted that the change reflects ongoing shifts in market conditions affecting procurement prices.  The SCU emphasized that Belize’s controlled pricing mechanism is intended to ensure that such increases are implemented in a regulated and transparent manner, passing on only necessary cost adjustments to consumers.  The revised rates are now in effect, and all LPG suppliers, both wholesale and retail, are expected to comply with the updated controlled prices as mandated by the Ministry.
