Dyon Elliott Named New President of the Belize Bankers’ Association

The Belize Bankers’ Association has appointed a new president. Dyon A. Elliott, General Manager of the National Bank of Belize Limited, has assumed leadership of the Association, succeeding Filippo Alario, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Belize Bank Limited. Alario expressed confidence in Elliott’s leadership and encouraged the continued strengthening of the relationship between the Association, its member banks and the Central Bank of Belize. As president, Elliott is expected to focus on greater collaboration within the banking sector as the industry responds to technological changes, financial inclusion priorities and evolving customer expectations. Elliott described the appointment as both an honour and a responsibility, noting the important role banks play in Belize’s economic development. He brings experience in banking, economics, public policy, business strategy and private-sector development.
