Dangriga Mayor Demands Justice After Teen Killed in Shooting

As we have indicated, there were several cases of gun violence over the weekend.  In on instance, 16-year-old Isiah Noralez lost his life.  The incident has drawn condemnation from the Office of the Mayor of Dangriga, with Mayor Robert Mariano describing the teenager’s death as a tragedy that has shaken the entire community.  In a statement issued this afternoon, the Mayor’s Office expressed its deepest condolences to Noralez’s family, friends and loved ones, saying the loss is one that is being felt far beyond the immediate family.  The statement emphasizes that every life in Dangriga is precious and calls for a full, transparent and impartial investigation into the circumstances surrounding the teenager’s death.  The Mayor’s Office is also urging law enforcement authorities to act swiftly, thoroughly and justly, stressing that violence and injustice have no place in the town and that those responsible must be held accountable under the full weight of the law.  The statement concludes by reaffirming the municipality’s commitment to supporting the Noralez family during their time of grief and offering assistance to the wider Dangriga community as it continues to grapple with yet another act of deadly violence.
