Cayo Police Probe Fatal Shooting Death of 21-Year-Old Andy Suazo

Police in the Cayo District are investigating the circumstances surrounding the death of a young man who was taken to the Western Regional Hospital this afternoon with a gunshot wound.  Authorities have identified the victim as twenty-one-year-old Andy Suazo.  According to preliminary reports, shortly after three-thirty this afternoon a man and a woman arrived at the Western Regional Hospital in an SUV transporting Suazo, who had suffered a gunshot injury.  Hospital personnel were reportedly told that Suazo had accidentally shot himself. However, police say the circumstances surrounding the incident remain under investigation.  Initial information indicates that Suazo sustained a single gunshot wound to the stomach. Investigators also noted the presence of a burn mark on the body, which suggests that the firearm may have been in direct contact with the victim when it was discharged.  The shooting reportedly occurred in Camalote Village in the Cayo District, though investigators are working to establish exactly what transpired prior to Suazo being transported to the hospital.  Police have since classified the case as a death investigation, and officers are continuing to gather statements and examine evidence to determine the circumstances surrounding the fatal shooting.  This is a developing story, and Love News will continue to follow it and provide updates as more information becomes available.
