BGLL Warns Public of Lottery Scam Circulating on Social Media

Belize Government Lotteries Limited, BGLL, is warning the public to be on high alert following reports of fraudulent social media posts offering so-called “winning numbers” for its lottery games.  In a press release issued today, BGLL made it clear that any individual or group requesting money in exchange for guaranteed numbers for games such as Boledo, Ordinary, or Jackpot Lottery is engaging in illegal activity. The company stressed that these claims are entirely false and are part of a scam designed to deceive unsuspecting members of the public.  BGLL reiterated that all lottery drawings are conducted under strict procedures to ensure fairness, transparency, and randomness. These include the weighing of lottery balls before and after each draw to meet internationally accepted standards, as well as oversight by senior public officers.  Additionally, all draws are supervised and audited by Coye and Associates Auditing Firm, providing an added layer of accountability. The draws are also conducted publicly, with members of the public invited to attend, and are broadcast live on Love FM.  The company is urging Belizeans not to engage with or send money to individuals promoting these fraudulent schemes, emphasizing that there is no legitimate way to purchase or obtain guaranteed winning numbers.  BGLL says it remains committed to maintaining the integrity of its games and protecting the public from scams.
